Therapeutic Riding Instructor:

Purpose of the Position:
The Instructor is responsible for teaching student lessons (under saddle & unmounted ) while ensuring a safe educational atmosphere for students and all members of the therapeutic riding team.

Requirements:
• Equine Management Degree or Equine Facilitated Therapeutic Degree
* PATH Intl. Registered Instructor Certified or CECTH Certified

Scope:
The Instructor reports to the Head Instructor, Program or Executive Director and is responsible for student services assigned by the Program or Executive Director.

Responsibilities
1. Teach Stoneybrook Foundation Therapeutic Riding Center students
• Create an initial evaluation for each student
• Develop long term and short term goals for each student
• Create Task Analysis for student activities
• Develop written lesson plans for each lesson
• Write reflections on each lesson
• Reevaluate student yearly or after extended time off
2. Lead lesson staff and volunteers
• Communicate needs to lesson volunteers
• Communicate with Head Instructor to determine volunteer needs
• Train for emergency situations
3. Maintain all lesson records
• Maintain, review, and file all lesson plans in a timely manner
• Maintain all student files according to barn policies and PATH standards
• Ensure protection and security of files and records
• Ensure effective transfer of files and records
• Transfer and dispose of records according to retention schedules and policies
4. Maintain professional presentation
• Maintain open communication with the Head Instructor, volunteers, students,
parents, teachers, and caregivers
• Develop communication systems to encourage efficient lesson coordination
6. Ensure compliance with all PATH, Intl. accreditation rules, regulations and requirements
7. Assist in the development and implementation of new programs
• Attend training as necessary to acquire certifications needed to offer new programs
8. Assist the Head Instructor in the Performance of her duties
9. Perform other related duties as required

Full Time and Part Time Barn Staff Position Available: 

Schedule could change depending on the needs. Individual would be working with our Barn Manager on scheduling needs who will schedule around other barn staff as well. As of now, we have morning shifts around 7am-1030am, evening 5pm-830pm daily.

Daily maintenance of the horses at the facility, including stall cleaning, feeding, turnout, and related duties.

Comfortable in working out of doors in all weather conditions.
Must be U.S. citizen or possess a valid resident/work permit, and maintain a valid Pennsylvania State driver’s license. Must pass a Pennsylvania Common Wealth Criminal History Report and background check. Must complete child abuse mandatory reporting training and obtain current child abuse clearances through DPW. Must pass workplace drug screening.

Competitive hourly salary will be dependent upon skills and experience. Hours can vary, could range 7am-10am; 5pm-8pm.
Pay Rate $10-$11 an hour, pending experience
